Great Plains Tribal Leaders’ Health Board
Increase tribal community awareness of 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline resources and support.
Native Reach™, a division of KAT & Company, partnered with the Great Plains Tribal Leaders Health Board to develop a strategic suicide awareness and prevention campaign. Utilizing a combination of different media strategies and outreach, we were able to successfully reach the target audience through a variety of channels.
To reach Indigenous South Dakota adults, Native Reach™ created a graphic animated video, which aired in all South Dakota GoodHealthTV® Network locations. To complement this effort, a radio PSA was distributed to several tribal reservation radio stations across the state.
The media strategies allowed the campaign messaging to reach over 92,000 individuals. The messaging addressed misconceptions of the 988 Crisis Lifeline, while highlighting lifesaving resources and support available to Indigenous adults.
Overall, the campaign was successful in its goal, as the 988 website saw an increase in related keywords searched, such as “Health Services” and “Mental Health Resources.”
